Why Anya loves teaching:
As a high school student with a passion for a diverse array of subjects, I really liked the opportunity to take classes that challenged me and that allowed me to delve deeper into the subject. AP classes gave me the chance to learn more about a subject I enjoyed, and allowed me to continue learning a subject beyond the high school level while still being in high school. I decided to tutor AP subjects because AP classes are very rigorous and challenging, and I hope that I will be able to provide fresh insight and aide to students taking those classes. I hope that my experiences will be able to help students with the course material, and I hope that my recent experiences of being an AP student myself will be able to further help students.

An interesting fact about Anya:
While I am planning on majoring in Biomedical Engineering, I am a writer and a Humanitarian as well! I love to write in my spare time, and even wrote a novella during my penultimate year of high school.

An excerpt from Anya's novella Raw Raw Raw:
"Why is it that all of our meaningful conversations seem to only happen at late at night? When half of what we say is unnecessary, and the other half, well, reveals too much of what we actually feel. That night was just another one of those talks. Those talks when you would say you were too tired, but I wasn’t ready to stop talking. Those talks when you would apologize again, and again, and I just never seemed to hear you. Those talks when it always began with an “if”, and ended with a sigh, and silence. Hours of sarcastic quips, cracked whispers, and static led to salty tears, dry laughs, a new service provider but not a change to our friendship. It was futile. Nothing changed. Why did we bother contemplating, wondering, feeling when we knew that once only silence bled, our relationship would not change. That thought of being together, the thought of the two of us...lingered endlessly during those nights. But I had held onto a hope that was fragile, and unrealistic. Then, we would just go on to speak about class, friends, if those few hours didn’t happen. I would get that strange flutter in my chest; that hum that would haunt me until I could sleep. It wasn’t speaking to you that hurt me; it was that nothing would change between us that hurt me most. It was knowing that we would forever focus on the “if”, and not on the reality."
