Why Kris loves teaching:
I love math, but I believe it's taught completely wrong in schools. At its heart, math is about finding patterns that crop up in the world around us, asking questions, wondering "Why does that happen?", and then going out to explore and show precisely why these patterns hold. In my tutoring and teaching, I endeavor as much as possible to open my students' eyes to this side of mathematics, and it's always gratifying to me when as a result, students emerge from tutoring with a better understanding of (and often, a greater appreciation for) the math at hand and why it works the way it does.

An interesting fact about Kris:
I play the ocarina - though I didn't get into it through the Legend of Zelda!

Languages Spoken:
Fluent in English and Mandarin, basic Hungarian

Student Reviews

"Kris is a extremely patient, and helpful tutor that values the thinking process..."
- Honors Advanced Algebra Student
"Kris is a extremely patient, and helpful tutor that values the thinking process, rather than the final answer. Through this, students can understand the 'Why' aspect to solving mathematics problems and hence will learn how to apply knowledge on more difficult problems."
